Beijing startup founded February 5, 2025 under CEO Chen Yilun. Tars made its name not
with walking demos but with a needle: in December 2025 it demoed what it calls the
world's first robot hand-embroidery — fine-manipulation threading running on its
SenseHub perception + AWE 2.0 stack across T-Series and A-Series hardware. Embroidery
is a telegenic proxy for the actual claim: millimeter manipulation in unstructured
settings. Funding is eye-catching for a company this young: consecutive angel rounds
reported at $120M and $122M.
