Optimus Gen 3

Tesla's third-generation humanoid brings FSD-derived AI and the AI5 chip to a
Fremont-built platform expected to enter Tesla's own factories before any customer
does. The split to watch: Tesla's internal targets (Optimus on the assembly line,
massive unit volumes) versus what's publicly verifiable (demonstrations, analyst
estimates). This entry tracks the announced program; production figures update as
Tesla files them. Historical context: Gen 2 never shipped — treat ship dates as
intentions until units exist outside Tesla facilities.

Tesla has no dedicated Optimus page. tesla.com/AI is the official Tesla AI page with Optimus imagery and description (replaces 404ing /optimus).
